Boy, 8, allegedly murdered by his mother at swanky Peninsula
An 8-year-old Manhattan boy was allegedly killed by his mother at the posh Peninsula Hotel in Midtown during a botched-murder suicide attempt, police said today.
Gigi Jordan, 49, tried to commit suicide after killing the boy inside the luxury Fifth Avenue hotel, police said.
Jordan's son -- identified by cops as Michael Jude Mirra -- was lying in bed wearing his pajamas and surrounded by thousands of prescription pills scattered on the floor and bed, police sources said.
The boy appeared to have been dead "for a while" and is believed to have overdosed on the pills sometime Thursday, a police official told The Post.

When cops entered the room, Jordan was conscious and sitting on the floor alongside the bed.
The official said she had a feint pulse and was "babbling incoherently."
Jordan asked to speak with a lawyer on her way to Bellevue Hospital, the official added.
Jordan, who also ingested pills, was is expected to live and is listed in stable condition.
Cops said Jordan has been arrested and charges against her are pending.
Jordan and her son, who lived in the swanky Trump International Hotel and Towers on Columbus Ave., checked into Room 1603 on Wednesday afternoon and paid for the room in cash, police sources said.
The room, a luxury suite, goes for $1,075-a-night.
Jordan never left the room and ordered room service for every meal, sources said.
During her stay at the landmark hotel, Jordan sent an alarming e-mail message to an aunt in Belgium saying that she was threatening to kill herself and the boy.
The e-mail led Jordan's aunt to frantically call the NYPD this morning -- sparking a manhunt that led cops to her empty West Side apartment overlooking Central Park, sources said.
Jordan and her son were eventually discovered in their room today at 11:40 a.m. when an employee at her apartment building said Jordan had been staying at the hotel.
When cops got to the room, the door was bolted shut and closed with the help of a chair. Police said they had to break down the door to gain entry.
Law enforcement officials said Jordan was very distraught over the end of her marriage and checked into the upscale East 55th Street hotel fearing that her husband would fight for custody of the boy, according to the sources.
A suicide note was found inside the room among piles of paper.
A hotel spokesman would not comment on the incident.
The five-star hotel, housed in a Beaux Arts building that was built in 1905, is renowned for its "comfort and class" and features a roofop bar and multi-level gym, according to its Web site

That's ... insane. Who would think of doing that? If there was custody she would still get to see him and all! Now she and her ex / husband can never seen him.
I would never do such a think to our kids ._. I mean, that ain't right. Then again we'll never have to worry about custody cause we'll never be apart

People who kill their kids just so they don't have to leave them, I hear about this too often. It's possibly the most selfish thing a person could possibly do! It's a shame it wasn't the mum who died and the boy that lived.
